Danno,
Congrats on a wonderful instrument. As I recently had a parent pass away I understand the loss. I think you did a great thing for your mothers remembrance.

Congrats, Danno, it looks wonderful -and I'm really sorry to hear about your mother. I haven't had to deal with that yet. Hopefully it'll be quite some time.

Very Nice axe Danno congrats. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your mother.
I feel your pain man, I lost both my parents to cancer. The sooner we find a cure for this killer the better.
It is a really cool Bass.

Danno:

Congrats on the JANUARY COTM (at least as it's listed). I am touched by your memorial to your mom. Beautiful, man. I can also relate. I just returned from New York where my father passed away last week. Kind of puts things in perspective. It is a gorgeous bass, even if it is painted.

Elegantly spare in piano black, set off nicely by the brass hardware. My fondest respects to your mother's memory.

Danno,
Playing music on stage is like being in a bubble, away from the troubles of the world. I'm glad that when you play this bass, your mom is in that place with you. She really passed down the talent.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm reminded each day of my mom and how special she was. Those memories are now connected to my love of performing and of course the Wickersham family and the Alembic company. I was very touched and humbled when Mica asked me to make Kay the cotm. Perhaps everyone will extend some warmth to their mothers and the mothers of their children this month and every month simply because you still can.

I didn't follow the story of this bass. However, I saw a BLACK EXCEL BASS as COTM and immediately mused "Huhmmmmm ...this is a bass that Danno would like to have".
Douwgh!!!
Nice my friend!

Other than an old Jazz Bass, one can never have enough Excels! May she (my assumption of course)bring you years of enjoyment.
