I just wanted to say that this month's featured custom has got to be one of the prettiest works of Alembic art that I have seen in a while. I must admit that the inlaid fret lines only on the side of the neck is an ingenious solution ! I'm not fearless enough for a 'bald' fretless, but with this feature, I could try it. Bravo ! Joey Wilson |

Hi Joey, I was originally referring to this month's feature. They used mandolin frets. They're very thin and can almost sound like fretless with the right touch. I think this might be what you were referring to: http://alembic.com/info/FC_tiger.html This is the only featured custom that I've seen with fretlines on the side of the fingerboard. |
