Jordan (jsaylor) wrote: quote:What do all you guys in here play? Post up guitar or bass, and how many strings. Just curious to what most people here play.
When I read this question I was puzzled because it seemed akin to asking a group of artists what brands of tools they used without asking them what mediums they worked with. Some of us play jazz, some play blues, some play Americana, and some play other styles of music. Some people play both kinds of music: Country and Western. 8^P So tell me/us Jordan; why did you ask this question and what are you trying to determine? For me the answers to your question are. * Guitars (fretted): 6-string electrics and acoustics. * PSG's (electric): 14-string w/ 8 pedals 5 knee levers, and a double-10. * non-pedal SG's: an electric double-neck Gibson Console Grande (7-string & 8-String), and Dobro (acoustic resophonic) 10-string. * Bass Guitars (fretted): acoustic (w/ pickup) 4-string & solid body 5-string. * I also dabble with mandola, tenor banjo, mandolin, 6-string guitar synthesizer, cittern, and autoharp. Quite the assortment to say the least! Very cool. I'm familar with a lot of your names on the forum. I'm not supprised at what you have, what knocks my socks off is the amount represented here and I'm still amazed cause I know the list might be endless! Anyway heres a sample, there's fretted 4 and 5 string basses EADG, BEADG fretless 4 string bass 4 string upright bass 4 string acoustic/electric bass 6,7,12 string electric guitar 6 & 12 string acoustic guitar 8 string mandolin 4 string ukelle 4 string violins electric keyboards Name brand stuff mostly from 70's, a few from the 60's & 80's The type of musical progression I went through made the instrument selection happen. Since I'm a musical/musician pack-rat I've collected more than anyone on my block anyway. When you've got G.A.S., you've got it all! LOL NLP |
