Well you guys, I know this has been talked about before but I thought I would bring in a fresh thread for those who are new around here and don't want to wade through the old stuff.

Anyway my question is, does one lose the "Growl factor" when going from a set neck to a full neck through bass. In other words in your opinions do you need a set neck to get the growl or will a neck through bass, specifically a Series II get that growl sound.

My single pick-up Excel has a nice growl to it but my neck-through 2 pick-up Carvin does not get it. Is it the particular brand that won't get it or the neck config?

Even more specific, is it a bolt on more than a set neck or vs. versa?

Yours very truly, lol Paul da plumma
