Pretty, pretty that.... I'm sure it plays as good as it looks. And it looks like you're enjoying yourself.

Very Nice, Oliver!

I see you also have a new Ashdown rig to replace your Eden stack. I should have guessed that you were after John's most recent sound, i.e., the JE Band-era.

Enjoy in good health! Looks like you're having a lot of fun...and I'm jealous, LOL!

Cheers,

Kevin

What an absolutely stunning bass, Oliver! You wear it well. Thanks for sharing the pictures -and I'm glad there was a happy ending to the story and it ended up in your hands where it belongs!

It's Anniversary electronics with a dummy humcanceller to mimic JAE's stuff (and a "horn" mounted pick-up selector switch for nostalgia as well).

That bass is exactly where it belongs. I could not imagine anyone else playing it and having symmetry as Oliver does with Tears for John. Well done!

Yep,
and of course a master vol on the front horn.
The sound is really fantastic, similar to the Spyders with the upper mids and the treble, but adding a great punch in the lows which the Spyders donīt have that significantly.
Rgdg to the Ashdown: with my B2 I played mainly distorted through a Boss-ME50B pedal but now with TFJ I play mainly only using the Asdowns natural distortion and I get a true Shepperton Bush Piano sound. It is really fantastic. I am really glad that I have TFJ. Maybe an 8string should follow?

That thing looks so beautiful that I would almost pay for a airline ticket to hear it. And it sounds like you got alot of good friends to back up the fact that you deserve it (all-be-it I don't know the secret story). But really who is to say who deserves Alembics. I know if anybody doesn't deserve one, it is me. But God blessed me with an awesome one pick-up Excel and a Series II on order.

I don't know how one could sleep at night after playing a monster like that. It must be nice!!

God bless, hope you can come down if you need to.

Ollie,

You with an 8 string TFJ ... Gott hilf uns! :-)

She looks great, and I'm sure she sounds great in your capable hands as well. Just hope my JE Spyder replica turns out as beautiful, but I'm sure it will.

Congrats,

Alan

Alan,
I KNOW that I will be deadly jealous when I see your new baby.
I KNOW I WILL !!!
The idea of an 8string TFJ is growing more and more on me.
But the not avialable money will bring me into life very quick. :-)

Take care my friend
