Hi,

I saw this "Alembic" for sale and I'm not sure whether it's a fake. Could someone please help me out?

Hi Jazzter and welcome to the club.

It does not look like any Alembic I've ever seen. All Alembic's I've seen have the truss rods configured so they're adjustable at the body end and I've never seen a cut away finger board like that. That said, the logo looks real. You need Mica for the definitive answer.

These are Japanese production basses for which Alembic provided the Logo. Very rare and the only "official" Alembics with a bolt on neck.
There are some threads on this board, try the search feature ;-)

It has a great look to it. It serves my purpose, beauty, form and function. Look at those tuning keys!, I bet this thing balances perfectly and sounds killer!!

Some reasonable prices there. $300 for a new strat pickup set - I'd buy that if it were local.
