Does anybody know why the FTC section is closed right now? My bass should be starting assembly soon and I am afraid I'm not going to get all the nice pictures that Mica takes of everybody's basses in the build.

Thanks, Paul

Hi Olie,

It just says closed on the bottom and I noticed nothing new in there so I didn't know if anybody could post or not.

Thanks, P

I believe it says closed because only Admin (ie; Susan or Mica) can start new threads in the FTC section. We can all post in the threads, but plain old members can't start new threads on their own.

Wow, that's great news for Mica and her husband! I imagine her personal FTC will be well worth the wait - of course, there will have to be pics! ;-)

If I may stick my foot in here.

As Jeff has alluded to, a reasonable expectation might be that updates to FTC threads, and serial number requests, might be a little less frequent than previously experienced. That being said, this seems to be a good time to remember that Mica has lots of responsibilities at Alembic, and lots of customers to care for. In light of that, I think it is helpful to view updates to FTC threads as special treats. Personally, I think that given all that Mica does, repeated requests for updates to FTC threads are a bit unreasonble. Of course, any order for a custom Alembic is a special event, and FTC's are wonderful tools for sharing the building of these instruments. Thus, requests for updates are entirely understandable and to be expected. So, I guess I'm just suggesting here that even under normal circumstances, respect for Mica, Alembic, and fellow customers suggests that requests for updates should be made sparingly and with respect.

It is my expectation that Mica will be away from the office and unavailable for a while. I think that we should give her some time and space. Personally, I am keeping her in my thoughts and close to my heart.

Please notice the "LOL" at the end of my one sentence above. The post was completely TIC. (Tongue in cheek)
I am aware that Mica is due soon and am elated for her and I totally understand her being preoccupied.
I have spoken to Susan and Mica both via the telephone and know exactly where we are at on my bass.
SO, if the foot in the door was insinuating that I personally was being disrespectful rest assured that was not my intention. And all one need to do is look back over my FTC thread and you will see that I have exercised nothing but patience and respect, albeit sometimes humorous, in my posts.

I would like to add though that without Ron, Susan, Mica and the rest of the crew (all wonderful people) there would be no Alembic. But remember without the “customer” there would be no Alembic either.

Dittos everybody!

We are all in it together and all in Love I'm sure. And of course we are all a little antsie and Mica is more than a little pregnant and Alembic is a little more than popular and dot ta da and dot ta da.

That's why when I say please I say- pppplllleeeaaassseee!

Right now I gotta just start training myself to take bags back to the grocery store, turn more lights off, and make less trips.

I wanna nip this ozone in the bud cuz I have a 3 year old beautiful son who has a life ahead of him.

But one thing for sure, I aint gettin rid of my tube amp for transistors! Hahahahaha, just kidding, I have both.

Olie; no it was not your remark that prompted me to post. It was more a feeling I was getting from reading the FTC and Serial Number sections, and knowing that, as much as she would like to, Mica wouldn't be able to respond to the requests. I just felt a need to post something that might help take the pressure off of her. Also, email that I was getting, unrelated to this thread, indicated that others were noticing the same thing. So no, my post was not directed to you, and your post was not the cause of my concern. Now that I think about it, what I should have done, and what I may now do, is post something outside of this thread to the group at large.

Thanks,

David

Good People Dave, Olie, and the rest.

And thanks Olie but, believe me, it's a chore! I married a younger filipina and that's what I get!
But I have no regrets, this little guy is the love of my life. I'll post a picture if I can. Woops, no can as I have no pics in this computer this morn I am down at the store.

Thanks again, Paul
