What kind of sound (tone) do you get from MXY's vs. "J" activators?

More power for one as the J activators are rather skinny and the MXY's cover a larger string window so will pick up more fundemental and harmonics
But i guess it does depend on whether you have filters or bass and treble controls.
Anyone else care to add???

P/J Alembic Elan: Clique

AXY Alembic Spoiler: Clique

P/J Fender Prodigy: Clique

All about the same electronics, Filter + Q switch (Fender has a single preamp) and AXY are the same as MXY.

Interesting difference I'd prefer the sound of the AXY in that sample more meat and stronger tone.

I agree with Jazzy. I definitely prefer the AXY track. (Nice rendition by the way, I haven't thought of that song in some time).

Very interesting. I have an Elan 6 and a Prodigy also. I gigged with the Prodigy Sat night and it rocked the house through my AMPEG BXT 115 and SWR 550X amp. The Elan is so squeaky clean by comparison. The Prodigy is easy to overdrve the input stage if I am not careful to set it low.
