Well gang, I just edited my profile to add my new custom and to correct my age... and I noticed it's been (just a day more than) two years since I registered.

How time has flown! It's been a fun two years! Kind of appropriate to end two years here by getting my second custom!

Cheers!

I'm sure you're enjoying that custom. Can't wait to get mine too!

Best regards,

Alan

It's looking pretty sharp, Major! I haven't seen an update in a while, so I'm guessing you'll get one soon...

It's going to be your first Series, right?

Should be "the bee's knees"!!!

And yes, I'm enjoying the new custom considerably... working on my second hour (tonight) so far... working on two Bach pieces, and getting ready to start a 3rd!!!

I registered two years ago, but I didn't get my first Alembic until a month ago.

Good things come to those who wait, I suppose-it was well worth the time it took for me to get my bass, and it's been great getting to know everyone in the time being.

Yes, this will be my first Series and custom too.

I'm hoping it's the "bee's knees" and then some!

Two Bach pieces .. geez, I'd be lucky to handle one!

Congrats,

Alan

Greetings, Alan and Chris!

More concurrently! I've learned -but am still smoothing out and completing memorizing- the prelude of Bachs first solo Cello suite (playing an octave below written pitch, natch).

In addition, I've started working on "Invention number II in C minor" -which is somewhat challenging... it wasn't written for electric bass (obviously) but the range falls in the capacity of a 6-string bass (if one plays it an octave lower than written pitch, again); however, there are a few parts when the high and low counterpoint parts are so far apart that I'll have to do some tapping, as they'll be two far apart for even my large hands to play in one position.

I know and can play the piece on keyboard... but it's interesting to transpose it to bass. At some point, I'll work out some or all of the "Suite in E Minor" that I play on classical guitar for bass too... but for now, I'm trying to work on some new pieces specifically for my new bass!

Bach on an electric bass is one thing I still would like to learn.
I started to buy a booklet with Bach's cello studies.
The sheets where LOADED ALL OVER with black dots on lines. I TOUGHT I coulkd handle sheet music but I discovered the limits!
But ...one day ...when I will be a grwon up and famous musician ...I'll try it again!

Hey Paul TBO! I haven't seen you around these parts much lately!
