Pierreyves is right they are £695 from Bassworld in Tonbridge I think $600 from Beaver is a little hopeful (although you may be able to negotiate) if you were able to get it for that price and shipping was around $250 (this could be less) to import would cost around £550 with the duty and VAT added. Alternatively there is an F2-B for sale on ebay right now which can be found here:

I got a used, flightcased F1-X off ebay two months ago and there was one for sale two weeks ago with a starting bid of around £250 (can't remember exact start price) so they do come up.

Hi
Thanks for all of your help, I'll give Bassworld a ring tomorrow.
I erm....don't actually play an Alembic, my main bass is a Modulus Q6, amp wise I'm using an Epifani UL502 through a pair of Accugroove tri112Ls, all in all a very hifi set up, I'm after a tube pre more more of an organic type vibe, and the Alembic I think is just the thing.

I am going to get an Alembic, hopefully next year sometime, I fancy a 6 string Rogue.

If you read the post Pierreyves I did point out that I thought it possible that the shipping could be less than $250 indicating that I was not sure what it would actually cost. I also had an MK5 delivered at $350 for the shipping so I was guessing at a smaller item, but considering that shipping will probably have a lower weight/price minimum on the basis that its crossing the Altlantic.
Also you may not trust ebay, but I bought an F1-X from there and it was in good condition and reasonably priced. Speak as you find.

i got mine via ebay from the usa and i think including delivery and purchase it was about £300. But the pound was really strong then.
Changing the voltage setting for 240v was a call to alembic and moving some jumpers on the transformer.

Well I have 2 F1-Xs and if you want my spare one you can email me. I am in the UK. Mind you it is not a backup spare, but another rack rig thagt was kept in a different town to where I am based that saved me carting gear about. I kept a rig based on an F1-X in that town where I used to work and rehearse, I've quit working with that act so I now have a 'spare' F1-X.
