That is indeed Jimmy Johnson; in fact that's James Taylor's band backing up Jerry Douglas and Alison Krauss. This is from the James Taylor special that appeared on PBS. Being a North Carolina native, a former long-time resident of Chapel Hill, and an old hippy, this is one of my all time favorite tunes. I also adore Alison Krauss' voice; and this is a beautiful version of this special song. Today I finally got around to hooking the laptop up to the stereo. So, I've cranked it up with this song; and Jimmy's low bass notes are shaking the house! Thanks for posting this video link! Wonderful tune! | ||

Alison Krauss and Jimmy Johnson (and JTs band) Its heaven in digital video. All artists I love and admire. there is quite a few examples on youtube of Jimmy playing with James Taylor if you're interested just type title of JT songs into the search engine, some awesome playing. One of my favourites is this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xIZEh8_eNlw listen right to the end its worth it for the phrase that Jimmy plays and the guitarist repeats just before the fade. Jake |
