HELP!
Could someone help me? Is there anyone from Alembic out there?
I bought a wonderful used Series II '79 guitar a couple of months ago.
Unfortunately the guitar had a problem with one of the pickups (it is really weak).
I wrote about my problem in this forum and some wonderful persons was so kind to help me to indicate me the way to solve this problem.

Following the instructions of the HELPDESK, I ordered:
2 replacement PICKUPS for the 1979 Series II guitar
1 Truss rod wrench TRW
1 Pickup Screws 018-264
1 Plate Screws 018-251
1 Alembic Supreme Polish Supreme Polish
1 Leather Gig Bag for GUITAR (sn 79 1492)
1 replacement truss rod nut
2 20k resistors with insulators to wire the guitar in mono

The helpdesk replied to me in Nov. 29 by email:
“Hi Paolo, thanks for your order. The gig bag will need to ship separately, but the rest of your order can be ready to ship by next Tuesday. We need to make the pickups since they are not the size we use for new guitars.”
Since then I had no reply to several email sent to Aembic.
I sent to them tons of email from 2 different accounts, several faxes and I used the help form in the web site too with no results.
Someone knows what is wrong?
... HELP!!! ....

Hi Paolo. I live 2600 miles (4200km) from Santa Rosa, so I can't say from personal observation, but I have gathered that sometime around late November and continuing though December, flu hit the shop pretty hard. I also gather that not everyone has recovered and returned to work. And it's a small shop. And given the time of year, the number of emails and phone calls probably increased during the same time frame that the shop was inundated with flu virus. And of course the shop was working hard at getting a lot of instruments finished and shipped before the end of the year. Additionally, in the last few days the area has been hit by flooding and power outages. So my guess would be that despite their best intentions, the people at Alembic are a bit behind on their email messages.

Given your situation, you may want to try giving them a call at this point.

Sorry I'm not much more help than that. Keep trying, I'm sure they want to help you with your guitar; they're just a bit behind at the moment.

Ok... As usual I received a reply from alembic as soon as I posted in this forum :
"Hi Paolo,
Thanks for writing, I'll ask about your order when I'm in the office in the morning. It's 7:00 in the evening now and I'm at home.
-Helpdesk"

This was 5 days ago.
I placed my order 50 days ago and I had a feedback only after posting here.
I am a little disappointed now.
I know, Alembic is a little company and so on but I am only asking to know the status of my order!!!
I need to know if I will be able to repair my guitar or if I will have to send it back to the seller!
I really love Alembic guitars and basses and I think that the person that are working there are nice, but I don't know what have I to think about the support service.

Someone else had problems like mine?
I am sorry, I am boring all of you, but I hope to have some feedback from Alembic team!

Hi Paolo; you're not "boring" us. We do hope that you are able to get your situation resolved. All of us here in the forum can appreciate your desire to get your Alembic fixed; it's a great guitar. So, no, you are not "boring" us; your concerns are entirely understandable, and it is certainly reasonable that you have written about them here.

Again, I think that given your particular situation, you might want to call. I know it's the same thing I suggested in my last post, but there's not much more I can do, short of getting in my car and driving across the country. And as much as I would love to visit Northern California, I'm kinda not in a position to do that this afternoon. And I'm not making light of your situation, just trying to bring a smile into the picture. It's a great guitar, and you're going to get it fixed, and you're going to love it. And yes, it's a small shop with lots of orders to fill and work to do, and the emails and posts are too voluminous to keep up with. I'm pretty sure that Mica is probably not able to read all the posts here because it would take too much time out of her day to do so; I know because I read all the posts here. While writing this, I just checked to see if the January Custom of the Month is up yet; nope, not there yet. I know this is something that Mica intended to have up at the first of the month, and I know she was working on it back in the middle of December; but there's only so much that can get accomplished. There's all this stuff that has to be done, and it's hard to keep up with it all.

I've never been to the shop, and I don't know what it's like to be in Mica's shoes. I can only guess. But knowing her to the extent that I do, I can honestly say that she has every intention and desire of helping you get your Alembic fixed and your order filled. She really does care about all of us, and she's always trying to make everybody happy. That's just the way she is. And that's a good thing; a very good thing.

And if you feel the need to post here about this again, please do. I personally want to see your situation resolved and your Series II in good health.

Thanks,

David

I wish to thank David and all the persons that wrote to my email address.
This is really a fantastic community, fantastic exactly like my Series II!
Ok. So I have to do it. I have to call...
Actually I am so reluctant because.. well, I live in Italy and call the USA from here is not cheap and... yes I have to admit: the real problem is that I have not too many problems to read and write in (my awful) English, but I am not very able to speak!

Paolo

Ok. Now I feel a little ignorant. :-(

Hey, Paolo!

I'm sure you speak and read English MUCH better than most of us can do in Italian!!! Welcome to the gang, and best of luck with the New Guitar. Look at the bright side. If you do have to call, the time difference should mean you're calling in the middle of your night, when your rates are cheapest :-) !!!

Have fun, Mike, Tho....

I only have one language; I tried unsuccessfully to learn others. And English being one of the more difficult languages to learn, I'm always impressed with people who have any abilities with English as a second language.

So, from my perspective, there's no need to feel "ignorant"; your written English is very good!

Absolutely... I can't even imagine where I would start to try an Italian translation.

The best to you Paolo! And welcome to the club.
Play it Healthy!
