Over-tightening the pickups. Never ever do it. I saw the warnings repeatedly. I wonder what it is then that made me go ahead and try to lower it another fraction of an inch? I swear I heard a sound like a spool of wire unraveling--in a space of time that allowed my mind to scream NO, PLEASE DON'T--as the piece of plastic snapped off. I just sat there. Stunned at my own stupidity and hard-headedness. All I needed to do was take the damn thing off to realize how the pups are suspended above the body. But no.

OK. So what's the price for new bridge pickup on a 1985 Distillate?

I actually did use a bandaid last night when I did it. Folded a medium sized one over end then used it like a "soft" spring to keep the piece in place. I suppose I will go ahead and superglue it but I am still curious about the cost of a pickup.

John,
Mica had a post a couple of years ago about buying a factory "second for $75.00, if I remember correctly. I bought a used Essence that arrived with a cracked pick-up, Val advised epoxy, he said it would be stronger.
(This may be a repeat, I think I lost my first post to the ozone).

Has the lug side snapped?? Pics please then we all can look and decide best advice.
There are some very good adhesives on the market now that are specifically for hard type plastics.
If it is only the mounting then I am sure it can be repaired
As I said a pic would be useful
