Someone on the Gallien Krueger forum recently posted a topic that I found interesting. The question was how many of us are actually in a band and if so, what kind of music do you play? If it is covers, list some of the songs and artists. So who is in a band and what do you play? I am in an original rock band called Grafite. We are based in Boston and have been getting a lot of airplay in the US and Europe. For some reason, England and Scotland radio stations seem to be the most interested in us. Two weeks ago, we did an interview with the internet based radio show Maximum Threshold. The other guests were Steve Stevens (guitarist for Billy Idol) and Niki Kuskey from VH1's Rock of Love 2. I play in a band called Great American Taxi. Officially, we call ourselves Americana without borders. We're based out of Colorado and play all over the country (US, that is. We hope to go further afield). I used to live in Boston until 1995 and played in a band called Shockra there that was a psychedelic funk band in the proto jam band scene. I play with an original rock band Night Rider and its rock-meets-classical version Night Rider Symphony (pretty much the same line up but a different guitarist, and an additional keyboardist and opera singer). my band is SUPERTROUT we play original music and select covers from artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Garcia, Hunter and others. The music is transformational and is described as intense light,lyric and sound production from the mythical magical SUPERTROUT. we are not a ego driven band. we don't assault you with our musical prowess, instead we try to engage the listener with soothing tones in a sweet sonic embrace, never forgetting that we are there to serve the song, the lyric, the listener. our shows/productions create a inviting space for people of all ages and cultures.
