Body Glove case for Europa 4-string?

Author Message bassclef29 New Username: bassclef29 Post Number: 5 Registered: 5-2006 Posted on Friday, April 04, 2008 - 1:55 pm:    I have the official Alembic hard case, but now I'm looking for a "hybrid" like the Body Glove. [Not interested in a soft gig bag.] There's no local dealer where I can eyeball the Body Glove. My issue is, does the Body Glove case fit the Alembic bass properly? Mostly, I'm concerned that Europa's angled headstock could bear weight when the case is flat on its back. But if there's a neck support built in, this may not be a problem. If anyone has experience with the Body Glove case with Alembic basses, I'd love to hear from you. Other lightweight case recommendations welcome. Every little bit of weight and size makes a difference. The regular case is just slightly smaller than Rhode Island, The Body Glove seems more than adequate protection for going back and forth to rehearsal. Of course when I gig and I'm loading up the back of the Highlander with equipment, I use the original hard case. (It's funny, but the one time I never use gig bags is on a gig!) I agree that when the going gets rough, the hard case is the best choice. If I were a touring musician, I'd get an Anvil-style ATA case. My Europa bass is worth the size, weight, and cost.
