The deluxe has both front & back matching woods whereas the standard only has the top wood with accent laminate and body wood. With Alembic you can start with a 'basic' model and if your wallet/bank account/inheritance/mortgage(whichever is easier!!) has the funds you can add as many custom options as you want. Multiple body laminates, multiple neck laminates, ultra exotic woods, LED's, gold hardware, elaborate inlays, custom electronics. Currently, the deluxe gets you cocobolo top and back, purpleheart neck stringers and a silver logo instead of brass. I think that's in the vicinity of $3500 at list price.
