One of the most loyal and true Alembic players around. I read in the bass-book that Jimmy was the first "more-than-4-string" electric bass (exception for the Fender VI and Danelectro more "guitar-basses" instead of "bass-guitars") player. According the text in the book he was inspired when ordering it by his father experiences on 5 string upright. 5 string uprights go WAY-back into time. In fact that's perhaps the greatest appeal to me about Jimmy's playing, the breadth of content and style he has at his fingertips. That and his insanely busy playing in the trio lineup. Hmmm, his tone is pretty fine too...... Awesome!
