Okay, back again, while im deciding what type of Alembic to order, maybe you can help me identify what type of electronics did John Entwhistle have on his main spyder 4 string with the cone headstock? I know that he had the series 2 set-up, but if you look at the pics, on the lower horn, there is an additional knob and switch, adding up to 6 knobs, 1 pointer rotary, and 3 toggle style switches. Can anybody id those additional knobs? |

Hi Tracey, I am very into Johnīs Spyder basses since more than twenty years and have collected everything available. Now I have a Spyder 4 and soon also a Spyder 8. John had around 15 Spyder basses back then, 1 with the V-peghead, to my knowledge two 8strings and the rest with the pointed peghead. Also these donīt have the same electronics. There is an original one hanging in the Hard Rock cafe of Berlin that has another knob setup on the lower horn. Sorry but I also donīt know the function of the additinal knobs. There is one master volume, one switch and one another knob. Maybe Mica can help us out with this? Many greetings Oliver Baumann |
