The used bass market seems to have fallen off. Another factor to consider is the relative rarity of six-string Series 2s. I'm not sure how many have been made over the years, but the number is small. If the bass you're looking at is as good as mine, I would urge you to spend whatever you can to buy it. The Fender is what it is. I can't recall seeing many Series IIs for sale... much less a 6 string. This may be your only opportunity to let someone else take the depreciation. I'd urge you to get it - and if you e.g. miss the Fender later, there are plenty of good Jazz Basses around and you'll be able to replace it when you can while this beauty is one of a kind.
