Hi Alembic-friends, i'm just wondering, how much the market/street price for second-hand Alembics (like new condition) with this specs:
Series II - 6 string JB Body shape
finish - bluish
side RED LEDs.
power cable + the Series II power supply (rack model)
i haven't take the pic yet but it looks similar like this but in blue
http://www.bassplayers.co.za/alembic-series2.html
i really need your advice, thanks

Hello,
Before the economy took a dive, second-hand Series basses were changing hands for about $4,000 US, but in a worldwide recession priorities have certainly changed. The used bass market seems to have fallen off.
Another factor to consider is the relative rarity of six-string Series 2s. I'm not sure how many have been made over the years, but the number is small. If the bass you're looking at is as good as mine, I would urge you to spend whatever you can to buy it. You only live once, and it's only money.

The Fodera is a high-end bass in its own right. The Fender is what it is. I can't recall seeing many Series IIs for sale... much less a 6 string. This may be your only opportunity to let someone else take the depreciation. I'd do it.

The Fodera is a Bolt on? I would have thought approx 2 seconds about swapping the two basses, grab it wile you still can!
Looks like a very good deal to me.

I love the JB body. You have a great deal. If you pass, let us know or send the seller to us.

Swap those basses for it now. Alembics are the standard of excellence. Nice blue stain.

This is simply unique! I'd urge you to get it - and if you e.g. miss the Fender later, there are plenty of good Jazz Basses around and you'll be able to replace it when you can while this beauty is one of a kind. I'd go for it.

Like basstard said, you can always pick up a Fender later, but a find like this is rare. Why did the person want to get rid of it? Who cares?
