Hi!

I was told today, by some music shop staff, that I could customize any Alembic bass model into the shape of an Exploiter. Is this true? On the website it only allows me to do this with the Series I and II basses. Also what's the cheapest Alembic Dragon Wings bass going for now? Sorry moneys tight. Lol. The reason I want to know this is because i'm in a Who tribute band and we like to use the same equipment as the Who do. At the moment I play a Warwick JE sig.

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks

Hi Jonny,

Welcome to the Club!

The body shape options on the Quote generator seem to be limited for the Signature lines (Clarke or King, Standard or Deluxe). If you start with an Essence, Rogue or Europa the Exploiter body shape will be listed. Standard charge seems to be 800 USD.

You can order just about any style body with any electronics you desire. There are some exceptions such as an Essence body with Series electronics due to the body size needed to hold the electronics. The best thing to do is pick the model and features you want and have the music shop get a quote for you from Alembic. Alternatively you could call Alembic directly but you would not be able to get a discount off retail price that way.

As Adriaan pointed out, the quote generator suggests that the upgrade price for an Exploiter body style is $800; thus a Signature Standard with an Exploiter shape should be $8,100, and an Essence with Exploiter shape should be $6,600. I don't know if anyone has ordered a set neck Exploiter yet; if not, then a new template would need to be constructed, which would increase the cost.

According to the price list, the retail cost of a Dragon Wing Standard is $9,600.

Note; the above are guesstimates on my part.

Here's the current link. The Dragon Wing is still there. He also has a second hand MK with series II electronics for 3995.

Hey Johhny, looks like you didn't used right the Custom Quote Maker.

You must first select the Model you want to customize. I believe you should choose the Essence (the cheapest option avaliable), then you can choose Body Shape. The Exploiter is listed there at Body Features in a pop up list (look more carefully, Pal).

It will cost you US$5.800,00 plus US$800,00 for the body modification (not to mention shiping and taxes). But I think you can e-mail them for other options, too...
