One of the most underrated bands ever but still a knock out when you see them live.

Too Cool!!! Wyzard was my introduction to Alembic basses. He had a white Series I too. I worked the stage for these guys back in the early 80's.

For the venue, or for the band?

I was working for the venue. The guys in the band were really nice and approachable. Mother's Finest is/was one of the tightest bands I've ever heard. I often try to interject a funk element into my songs... that inspiration comes from these guys.

Anybody not familiar with these guys, do yourself a favor and download the entire "Another Mother Further" album. They are the definition of Funk-Rock.

Danno; I don't think the two groups play the same kind of music.

I'd never heard of Mother's Finest before I started hanging out here. Thanks for turning me on to them, guys; they're good, maybe even great. But I'm sorry, Mike, there's only one definition of funk-rock!

Almost forgot about them!!! Mother's Finest never quite broke out as a national act. They were a little "too rock" for the funk crowd and a little "too funk" for the rock crowd. But I loved the way they weaved those 2 styles together. Check out this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMlA-IdLD-I
