Hi Guys,
I just located an old catalogue of Sotheby´s where JE did auction some of his basses in 1988.
Don´t have it yet but I am eager to see it to take a look what Alembics he did auction back then.
BTW, Val, plse remind the photos!!!

thanks for the great conversation yesterday.
I just discovered the second Sotheby´s auction catalogue from 1988 with Johns. Will keep you updated what was auctioned back then...

Hi Val,
here are some updated informations on the two JE auctions from 1988:
On April 7th 1988 there was a Series 1 auctioned with a Birds Eye maple top similar to the Spyders he had but what looks very strange on this is a Kahler whammy bridge mounted but without the whammy bar shown.
On September 12th 1988 he had the Alembic Flying V bass for auction but this one was not sold as this particular one was brought in again in this years Sotheby´s auction.
