I was playing my SC bass this morning as I haven't played it in over a month I suppose. Anyway I could feel more resistance than normal to the movement of my fingers on the strings especially my plucking fingers. I know I've had corrosion and coating problems with guitar strings when touring and playing on hot stages so for those times i now use elixir. However the strings on the bass are Alembics short scale ones and i wipe them down with a dry cloth after each use so I would hope that would cut down on the chances of corrosion but I can't imagine it being anything else. That being the case then, Is there anything I should be doing for my strings if i'm not using the bass regularly to keep them in good condition? Spring is in the air, so it may well be time for a truss rod adjustment. What you're feeling might be that the action has gone up. | ||

Why not trying some String Condicioner as GHS's Fast Fret or Dunlop's 65? You rub them on Strings and wipe last swet moisture drying cloth didn't reached. May be this works better than just dry it with a rag. But, as curiosity, why not just cut the excess and use some Coated String on it? | ||
