Hey gang, I have finally found a sweet used/like new Alembic to quench my bass buying urges (and my spending account). It's a 1989 Elan Plus. The plus basically means it is really a Europa. It has Europa electronics and the 11 piece neck and Europa Body style. I actually have Valentino to thank because he sent the seller to the club and thats how he got ahold of me. Anyway, I will post this picture I have of here now but when she arrives I will try and get a shot of her and I together for the first time! |

Hey Matt, Congrats on the Elan. I've had my Elan since 91 and it's been my main bass since then. In fact, mine looks a lot like the 5 string brother of yours. Anyway, best of luck and many years of happy playing. Peace, Dino |

Hi Matt, Beautiful bass. A great piece of straight-grained top wood. Is it coco bolo? It has those dark orange-red to brown colours. I'd love to own an Alembic too - but uni isn't cheap! I'd probably start with an Elan, or a Europa for the neck-thru sound. Well done once again Ben Reeve |

I can't believe what great shape that bass is in! I think the top is Macassar Ebony. That bass will not lack for highs with its Maple back. Sweet instrument. -Mica |

Mica you have a great eye for woods. It is a Macassar Ebony top and Maple body bass. I am really excited about how different it should sound from my Epic which is an all Mahogany bass (and a set-neck of course) Later, Matt |
