Advice please from all of you(if you can) One of my investments is maturing this month and I am thinking of getting SIMS led's fitted to my bass. Now the question is, has anyone in the UK who is a member of the forum or knows anyone who has had this done give me advice on if the action or feel of the instrument changed. I know Mark King has had these fitted but I cannot contact him! The though of someone drilling into my MK bass does give me some trepidation but his website states that your instrument comes back they way it was sent to them(with the added led's) I await your comments |

I have fretFx on 6 of my instruments, for my fretless, I couldn't live without them. I really like this product, and the price point is very appealing. |

I have the Fretfx on my Europa, i'm intrigued as to how front mounted LED's can be done as a retro fit without removing the fretboard... I will have to exercise my curiousity and find the Simms web site. Would be good to see how you get on with them Terry. Jazzyvee |

Jazzyvee..he won't give his secret away but the gallery has a multitude of basses and guitars, I have heard he uses a fine flexible drill which he holds the patent for. However he does it it doesn't change the intrument at all according to the web info |

Terry! Im from the UK and own Martin Sims's old 94 Epic that was used for his promotional work. The work that has been done is mint, you would never know it was an after purchase fit.SimS Led's contact number is on his web site, there is no difference to the feel of the fret board at all and well worth a look! Okay my bass is getting picked up on Friday 1st May by FedEx to be delivered to Sims LEDS. It is getting fitted with 11 LED's(2 at the 12th fret) with magnifier lenses and a toggle switch to operate them. He uses the same battery within the cavity to power them as they are very low current drain, things have improved since he began this company as he used to route a new cavity and place a brass plate over the compartment as the first ones he did used 18V. I asked plenty of questions on this, he said that the LEDS's act as an battery level indicator as they will go dim before the current dies completely to not supply the pre amp. He has done this on loads of instruments and has had no complaints. I shall post pics as soon as I get my bass back |
