Lovely bass, bet it growls like a grizzly with that ebony laminate. Am I right in saying that early Alembics just had the logo then the name came and now it is omitted. Mine has the name, at what point did you decide to omit the name. |

Nice top. I like the detail maple pinstripe in the neck laminates too. terry. My '96 epic has the name. My 2005 rogue doesn't but there'd be nowhere to fit it as it has the orion peghead. Neither does my 07 Mk. Graeme |

Beautiful bass! I love that Myrtle body wood! Mario; Mica talks about Myrtle bodies on the Body Woods page. Here's what she said about Myrtle: The greenish color of Myrtle isn't the only distinction of this mighty wood from the Pacific northwest. On an Alembic bass, Myrtle keeps the extreme highs out of the picture and fills the bottom with solid lows. We compare it to the sound of Mahogany but with less on the top end and slightly less on the lows. Used mainly in Brown Basses and paired with a warm Mahogany neck, there is no shortage of bottom end. Myrtle is the standard body wood for the Brown Bass and an optional body wood for any Alembic. |

I'm happy to see this bass - the neck laminates are almost identical to what I'm ordering (but my instrument will have flamed maple on the outside). Looks like a delicious combination. |

Hey, Dan. Thanks. I notice your post here is #57. How appropriate. I doubt I will ever sell this one. (I know I kinda jumped in here on the featured custom thread with my guitar; however, it is not often that Myrtle is so prominently featured.) |

What a great takeoff from the Stanleys and Brown Basses and others. I have too many basses to justify another Alembic for a long, long time, and I'd probably want something different (in shape) from my Brown Bass, but this one would be a great cousin to my bass. Different looks and personality, but definitely part of the same family. Very nice. Whoever the mystery owner is must be very pleased indeed. |
