I ordered a replacement set of knobs for my Alembic Spoiler on 28th May, but after 4 e-mail's requesting an update, I've had no communication back. The order status has not changed since I created it.

My order is Alembic-2198.

Can anyone at Alembic please advise what is happening with my order?

Cheers, Lee

Hi Lee,

Did we speak on the phone not too long ago? Sounds familiar, but I do speak to many folks. Anyway, I checked on your order, and since it was boxed and not yet out the door (overseas orders require a trip to the post office, which is easy to postpone!), Mary got it done for you today. You should see it soon.

I did receive an email from you on Saturday the 20th, that since I'm answering here, I won't reply to separately.

Do let me know when you receive your parts.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for chasing for me.

Hi Mica,

Yes, I called a few weeks ago to check the status of the order.

Thanks for the update.

I'll let you know when they arrive.

I also need a replacement mother of pearl inlay for the third fret of my spoiler. The inlay is still there, but it is now see-through, and I can see the glue that attaches it to the wood. Are you able to supply this?

Cheers, Lee

The inlay isn't mother of pearl, it's pearloid, a nice way to say "plastic." A replacement will look way off the remaining inlays, which have no doubt acquired some degree of transparency. I'd be inclined to leave it alone until the bass needed refretting, at which time I'd replace all the inlays with genuine mother of pearl.

Hi Mica,

Thanks for getting back again. I'd like to get a replacement pearloid if that is an option. I've spent a lot of time and money to put the spoiler back to "as new" condition, and being able to see a glue knot at fret 3, makes the job look unfinished. Perhaps you could send a couple of these pearloid's out to me, and I could see which one matches best?

I understand that it is a trip to the dreaded postoffice again! ;-)

The spoiler has become my favourite bass since purchase, but the lack of pearloid at fret 3 really detracts from the finished article.

Please let me know?

Thanks in advance.

The pearloid all looks the same here - it just will look different compared to the rest of yours.

I'll send in a padded envelope, will save me the dreaded trip.

Hi Mica,

I received the pearloid about a week ago, but still no sign of the control knobs. Which service was used to post them please?

Cheers, Lee
