I went to Rockpalace in The Hague and they had an absolutely stunning 1987 Alembic spoiler, long scale with a mahogany body with Koa top Bass second had for 1500 Euro.

I couldn't afford it but for the ones who can, go and check it out.

Hi Blazer,

I saw that one a few weeks ago. It felt like a medium scale 32" to me - not sure if they ever built any 34" Spoilers, but it certainly wasn't a 30" short scale.

I think the pots on this one were perhaps not entirely clean, and the pickup selector felt a little loose (no panpot, that's a turn-off for me).

The guy said they would put on new strings and make some adjustments. I would ask if 1500 euros is the best price they can give you. And hey, their legendary end-of-year sale is coming up and they're not doing anything for us bass players!

Happy hunting!
