Hello,

you can order a DS-5R from one of our dealers, or through our online store. Every once in a while you might see one up for sale on E-bay, although you see old DS-5s more often. I'm not sure about the switch on the the DS-5, I'd have to ask Mica or Ron on Monday when I get back to work.

Thanks Valentino that would be wonderful if you could find out Monday.

I also looked at the alembic online store but I didn't see the DS-5R listed. Am I just somehow overlooking it?

Checked with dad on the switches. The power switch for the DS-5 is a SPDT on-on (C&K part number 7101). We custom order these with a short bat so they are harder to break off.

If your DS5 has a mono/stereo switch, that will be a DPDT on-on (C&K part number 7201). Again, we order these with a short bat.

On the DS-5R, we use the custom black bushing and bat like we use on the instruments. We have all these parts available, but of course since we custom order them, they are a bit pricey. The off the shelf parts will work fine.

The DS-5R isn't in the online store. If you want to order one, please have the serial number of the instrument handy so we can update the file. You can order from us or through any Alembic dealer.

Great! Ty again for all the info.

(side note: Even though it's a short bat on the switch I've still broken it a couple of times during normal gig/practice use. I don't consider myself to be careless with my equipment; I adore my series one, but it doesn't take much to break one of those switches. I'm planning to replace mine this time with a push button DPDT if I can find one that'll fit ok in the DS-5 housing. Maybe it's not an issue anymore since it's always DS-5R's now and they're rackmounted and protected.)

What's the price on a DS-5R? I've got a bit of christmas $$$ that I wasn't expecting. ;)
