HI,
I would like to know if it would be possible to put anniversary electronics in my SC deluxe? And how much it would cost. Also, what does the refurbishing process entail? (new finish? anything else?)Price? Thanks for your help

Hi Ed,

A set of Anniversary electronics runs about $1200. If you use your existing filter+Q modules, you can save $500. You may have to slightly route out for the larger jack inside the cavity and reshield that area. If you send me a picture of your electronics cavity I'll probably be able to tell if it will be needed.

You won't be able to do anything with the old SC circuit until you replace the modules (and get some pickups).

Refinishing is a labor intensive process where we sand off the original paint down to the wood and completely repaint. Our price for refinishing also includes refinishing the tailpiece and cleaning all the brass hardware. Usually instruments in here for a refin also need a little fretwork, so we also include a fretmill (or a credit towards refretting if needed). Your instrument will look as close to new as it can with all the existing parts on it.

Mica,
This mod interests me as well but I am a little uninformed - what would I gain from replacing my 1991 SC Deluxe electronics with the Anniversary parts. Does this include pick-ups? And, is the difference in the Filter/Q modules in pan vs. switch? Or is there more to it than that.

The pickups do not need to be replaced; what changes is that instead of one volume & one pan, you have 2 volumes and a pickup selector switch. also the jack is different , as it is a stereo one on Anniversary electronics, with a switch to select either mono or stereo operation. The filter configuration is the same as in signature elctronics.

Thanks Valentino,
Sorry to keep hammering this point but just to clarify, from your description above, it sounds like there is little reason to make the switch from my Signature Deluxe electronics to the anniversary electronics if the difference is in pu switching and vol pan pots. These changes are not that important to me as pu panning and single vol that I have now are fine. If there is any signigicant eq impacting changes let me know. I'm certainly not unhappy with the current sound - if the anniversary upgrade gives me more of the sound that I currently have then I would be interested otherwise I'll keep things as they are.
thanks - greg
