Just found an amazing bass shop in Tokyo whilst browsing for images. They have a string of beautiful Alembics in stock: Like this Jimmy J Signature: http://www.sleekelite.com/stock/instock/alembic/760LB52WBH/DSCN0068.JPG http://www.sleekelite.com/stock/instock/alembic/761JJLB5WBH/DSCN0097.JPG http://www.sleekelite.com/ |

Hajime is a really nice guy and I believe he's currently the Alembic rep in Japan. I happened to see that series bass at the factory and almost choked! Next time I'm over there he better let me play it! Jimmy J |

Hey, I recognize that wall! That's MY version of the bass. It looks like Hajime has an additional switch near the 1/4" jack. Does that mean I have to get that? Jimmy J |

When this posting first popped up, it made me wonder whether Alembic had added a JimmyJ Signature model to the line. Now, I'm wondering why Alembic hasn't *yet* added a JimmyJ Signature! I never noticed the 3-on-the-bottom peghead before. David Fung |

David, I just tried going back thru the reference pages, to no avail.... But, IIRC, I remember seeing somewhere a serial # prefix which would designate a bass as being a JimmyJ model. |

The subtitle for the "Signature Models" page in Showcase lists "JJ" as a qualifying model designation, and there are threads on at least 3 of them there. Peter (Message edited by cozmik_cowboy on January 20, 2010) |
