I was just curious, if I wanted to have an aspect of my Alembic guitar modified, how do I find out if Alembic performs such modifications and if they do, how do I find out how to set it up with them and also determine how much it will cost me. For example, if I wanted an effects loop or op-amp buffer put into an Alembic instrument that did not previously have one, where do would I start? Thanks for your help.

Hello Scott,

we do perform electronic modifications all the time, both on bass & guitar.
The FX loop is something we feature on some of our guitars, so that's possible; however, without knowing what guitar model you have I can't say how much it would cost. That will depend on how extensive the modifications are gonna end up being and how much of Ron's time it would take; also, other than drilling new holes for the FX loop jack and the switch, the guitar would likely need some more body work to enlarge the cavity, which would then need to be re-shielded and might also need a new backplate. About the op-amp buffer I'd have to ask Ron. However I warn you that, unfortunately, Ron is pretty much booked solid through June /July so it would be a long while before he could tackle something new

Anyways, the best way to determine what your cost would be is to give us a call between 10am and 4 pm pacific time on weekdays.

Valentino
