Along with my Spoiler I also use an old Tokai fretless jazz for which I've been offered an Alembic P-type pick up. It comes with the tone control and jack socket, but would I need any other cicuitry? Or do I forget it and keep that pesky SF2?

I have refitted my homemade P fretless with a couple of alembic p's.. and I am finally happy with the sound. Started out with a pair of bartolini Ps, ... drummer complained sound was too farty and and I thought so too... great if you want to get the jack bruce mode....then witched to a pair of emgs from an older bass I retired...Ok sounding but a bit edgy...the alembic p's have the best 'headroom' if I can describe it as that.. they don't fart as much and that's what i am looking for in this bass. It is still a little clicky on the G string for me though.
