IIRC it would cost about as much as a Series II, last October.

Wow, ebony stringers in the hangers. Well, you have to use the scraps for SOMETHING once you make that Custom... :-)

Speaking of, I wish someone would make the small Alembic gift boxes again! I wanted to get one for my mother some time back but just missed them. They were really pretty...and much cheaper than the usual things we love coco bolo on!

Well...I for one am not going to drool over the display case (though it is impressive). Roger: Every time I see your bass from another angle, it grabs me how graceful the lines of the body, neck and claw are. It really does look like a living thing that could fly!

Hey guys,
you only speak about the showcase.
Did you notice Rog´s Dragon Wing?
This piece is state-of-the-art.....
And I will also have a chance to play
it soon, even if it only will be for a few
minutes. Thanks Rog!

Coincidentally, I happen to have 3 Alembics within 20 feet of me that I sure would like to display. Are you sure you fine California folk wouldn't want to make a little Chicago boy's heart go pitter-patter every time he walks in the door? I got my order in for a black Alembic strap today (Hi Val) And if I win the Mega Ball game tonight (215 MILLION), I will definately need to add to the family with a custom of my own!

Rog,
how did you read my mind about the DW?
Yes I am very eager to hold it and to play it when we meet. This will be a meeting: Dragon Wing and Spyder.....

Paul,

It's from lunchtime onwards on Wednesday 31 March at Edwin's shop.

We're coming up from Brugge (it's Jacqueline's birthday the day before so she might have a hangover!!) so it'll be whenever we arrive. Probably 1pm? That doesn't allow time for getting lost in Hilversum and lost on the way out of Brugge though!

I think the plan is that Claudia and Jacqueline are going shopping whilst we're all playing with bass guitars!

Cheers,

Rog

Rog, to use Paul's (TBO) own words "PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES !!! there had better be a camera there when Spyder meets Dragon Wing.

I think Jacqueline is going to take some pictures before going to give her credit cards some exercise! I can always get Edwin to take some pictures too!

Roger say that again. Your wife is more interested in your bass than shopping?
Alright!

Yes, but probably only for an hour and she'll have had some serious shopping therapy round Brugge for a few days first. So she'll be shopped-out probably!

TVR is out - no way the DW will fit in it! Besides, the boot on the TVR isn't THAT small (unfortunately)...

Roger,

This is too weird...

I picked my bass up (at Alembic) 2 days after my wife's birthday. In fact, they called me the night before her birthday to say it was done.

Hey Effclef. you are the only other person that I have seen here to mention the gift boxes. It just happens that my mother bought one for me a couple of Christmases ago. Serial number B-29. Quilted maple top to match my Essence 5. Just wanted to share.

That is a riot. They have serial numbers? I guess it should not have suprised me! I'd love to see them reissued sometime.

The woods are so beautiful - I'd be happy to just hang a square of Coco Bolo or quilted maple on my wall!
