I have an '80 small body Series 1 short scale bass with original everything and the bass is prone to hum even after I adjust the hum balance pots on the back. I had a '76 model before this one that seemed much quieter. Mica had told me that there is an upgrade for these old models to address the hum issue. Anyone here had this done? What was the result?
