Was surfing through some good old ones on youtube, and stubled upon this video of kool and the gang.

Is this an Alembic?!?!
Check out 2:35 and onwards, I swear that's the cloud with the circle logo on top of the headstock..

I would say Yes , it's dark but you can see the bridge and tailpiece a few seconds later.

I'd hazard a guess it's an Oasis. Though the logo is vaguely reminiscent of a Spector.

I don't think I have ever seen an Alembic with a bound neck.

It's not an Alembic. That headstock is a dead give away. But Kool also owned, and played Alembic basses professionaly.

I'll dig up some pictures...

In fact that bass looks quite similar to this one owned by a club member.

Check out Cooper Basses out of florida back in the 80's I saw pics of this bass with cool and the builder ..I can't remember his name though...which doesn't help much...check it out though.

I believe Jeff Porcaro's brother played an Oasis in Toto.
