You get what you pay for on this one. It has been modified to match his other cabinets. It is not as it originally was. Just something to think about before bidding. |

I'll ask my mom or dad to see if they can help. I haven't learned very much about the cabinets. |

Sure looks like other Alembic cabs I've seen over the years. I wouldn't worry too much about the mods--sounds like they'd actually be useful and not affect the performance adversely.

The person selling this box on eBay stopped the auction at the last minute, parted it out, and is now auctioning the box and speakers separately - obviously to make more money. Our comrade in arms, Jimmy, bid on this auction. Therefore, even though I generally bid on gauss 12's, I will not touch either item, out of protest to the seller's unfair action towards one of ours. Do note that I was not going to bid on this, anyway, as I warned Jimmy it was not original, therefore it might seem tacky to jump it in the end. The separate auctions start for a total of $225, so Jimmy is welcome to try and get these for what he would have, if he wants - but we all know the speakers alone will go for over $200. I have paid over $300 for orange baskets. I e-mailed the seller to let him know I did not show favor of his actions and that I will not consider bidding on any of his auctions in the future. I suppose I just do not like it when others obligate themselves to a deal, and the other party flakes out on them for a petty reason, like greed. I will not ask other to do what I have done, but I surely will not discourage anyone either . . . OK, I have rebelled enough this month. Thanks for reading this Y'all. |

Jimmy: It is a hassle, but you can turn him into to eBay for his unsavory act. He must have a good reason to stop an auction, once someone has bid on it. I cannot turn him in, as I did not bid on it, but you can. I certainly will not deal with someone who has no integrity, so he is off my list, regardless of what he puts up for sale. |

Hi Phil, Welcome back. Long time no see. I'm Mike (outside Chicago). We corresponded a couple of years ago regarding Guild Starfire basses. I never did modify my '73 Starfire, besides having it defretted. It's still sitting in my house and only comes out ocassionally. (I love that small neck!) :^) Mike Addyman |
