Hey Rusty,

Are you going to bid on that? If you are, I won't.... Let me know....I don't want to bid against a fellow club member.

Thanks,
Hollis

Hollis and Rusty,

That is a beauty, love the top. I have been interested in a vintage Alembic, even older than this one preferably. I actually bid on this one prior to reading this thread. I am not the current high bidder and if either of you are still interested in this I will not pursue it further. It seems really sweet, but the way I look at it is by not chasing this one I am $600 or so closer to a custom order ;-) Good luck to you all.

Court and Rusty,

I think that Court's idea of holding back toward a custom (Further in my case) makes more sense to me right about now.... Thanks for the consideration... It really is a hard one to pass up, especially at that price.

Court,
How's that Tribute working out? It sure is a beautiful guitar! I love the inlay. I haven't played a Tribute, but based on how unbelievably responsive my Skylark is, yours must be like playing in a dream...

Hollis,

Thanks, yeah I am super happy with my guitar. Looks and sounds fantastic. One other thing about the custom process that truly amazed me was how well Susan was able to take my not yet fully defined ideas and with the folks out there design and build exactly what I wanted, even better than what I had hoped for really.

The only problem I can think of is I all I want to do is play these days. its harder all the time to go to work, sleep etc.

And yeah my guitar like yours is super responsive. There is an amazingly wide range of tones. The very first time I plugged it in my first thought was David Gilmour actually. Then as per Susan's suggestion I turned on just the bridge pick-up (to bright) and rolled of the filter about half way and got some real nice Garcia-ish tones just as she said. And since then I have been playin' and experimentin'. Its great fun to find something new all the time both about the guitar and about my own playing.

Love the Skylark look too, I have not had a chance to play one yet, but would love to. Good luck with a Further project. I hope we see it on Factory to Customer soon.

Cheers,
Court

Hello, I just purchased my second Alembic and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for it to arrive! It is a '95 custom, serial no. 95C9527. Could you please tell me the specs on this bass and any history available? I plan to register it on your web site once I have it in my hot little hands. My first Alembic is a 2001 Essence short scale. I never thought I would own two but life is short so.... Thank you, Frank

Hmmmmm... I probably should have made my post above a new string. Sorry for the clutter. Frank
