I'll toss this up for anyone, but I'm expecting an answer from Oliver. The flame maple tops on the new Spyders are, no doubt, beautiful. But I was flipping through my copy of Maximum R&B tonight and John's Spyders look different. What type of top laminate did they have?

Curious,

Jonathan,
here I am..... :-)
Yes aou are right. The actual Spyders have strong
flame maple tops while Johns original Spyders had birdseye maple tops.......
Also the body shape of Johns Spyders were different to the current Spyder shape.....

Jonathan,
many thanks for the kind words.
Still looking for an original one.
So if you find a cheap one let me know... :-)
