Mike 1762 just purchased a beautiful Brown Bass. What is it exactly? The electronics include a switch on the upper treble bout that is not included in the "Signature" axy4 package? So how does his new bass spec out on the quote maker?
Thanks in advance

Brown bass is a specific combo of body and neck woods mated with the Sig electronics package

Top and back are walnut with a myrtle body, the neck is mahogany/maple with a walnut strip, the Switch at the top is a pickup selector 4 way standby/bridge/both and neck PuPs
there is also a stereo switch to run it "stereo".
I don't know how it works out on the Quote maker though...

I think the Brown Bass comes fitted with "Anniversary" electronics. Of course, Alembic could do it either way.

A little more than a year ago, I played one for about an hour through and Ashdown Blue combo amp. Loved it. Comfortable, great sound, great feel. Makes you think . . .

I'm thinking I'd really like a Brown Bass with Series guts. Don't really want to part with the Series bass I've got to fund it though..

Series electronics does add a healthy kick to the price compared to signature electronics.

Well the anniversary electronics makes sense. I couldn't grock the presence of a pup switch on Mike's bass. Now I know.

It sure is fun playing with the quote gizmo though....plotting a plan of attack with the specials etc. Gotta sell about 3 guitars, the Elan a clarinet and a sax to get 'er done though. Two of those guitars I hold pretty dear. I dunno.
Thanks.

I'm REALLY excited about the BB. I expect the neck recipe will translate to "warmer" sound than I get out of my SC. The body is a bit thicker than that on a SC, so I'm hoping it will balance a little better. It ships on Monday and will probably take about a week to get here.

Daniel, if you order through an Alembic dealer you can usually get a discount so the price in the quote generator doesn't reflect this, it's the price directly from Alembic

Daniel. There's a really cool page on the alembic main site detailing a brown bass build.

Thanks Graeme & Taylor and all the rest of you. I get these crazy ideas sometimes where my head says; "I want, I want". I want a short scale! It can wait, it can wait! I already have a short scale by another maker. It's a better bass than I am a player too. I'll use it up then order my SC deluxe or BB I think.
