Well it looks like I found my first Alembic.... talk amongst yourselves.....I am getting all verklempt. Any who; could you please provide the birth information for serial # 99Q11973 USA?

Thank you so very much. All of you...for providing invaluable guidance on this journey. I shall strive to be worthy.

Congratulations, Michael! I just re-read your posts on the 3 pickup Spoiler you were looking at, and it's great something else worked out so quickly.

I'm tempted to look up 'verklempt', but I'm pretty sure I know what it means. Rogues happen to be my personal favorite, and though I try to resist using the phrase, it was "my first" Alembic - and so far, I have no plans to get another bass, period.

Please don't get hung up this 'worthiness' nonsense - judgement is simply not a useful concept here. Like any fine instrument, I think the only things it can reasonably expect of you are to appreciate and enjoy it, and take reasonable care of it.

(Dings and scrapes in pursuit of the first two don't count. As you may have seen, we're struggling to get brother Ingmar to understand this right now, but that's another thread.)

I'm on the verge of waxing philosophical here, but I really want to just go play for a while. And maybe that's the point: if it encourages you to play music - good, bad, or otherwise, only you can agree on what that really means - then it's probably happy, you're playing music, and overall the universe is a slightly better place (in whatever grander scheme that might be a meaningful concept).

When does it arrive? (trying to get you a grace period on the pictures)
-Bob

By the way, can we call you 'peggie' just for fun? Can't wait to see how this might tie in to the recurring discussion of stockings...

(Bob said "tie" and "stockings" in the same post, he he he)
Hi Michael! congratulations on the rogue. I'm sure you'll love it. The Paul brigade will be by shortly to chant the "Paul poem for visual enhancement" recited to the tune of clanking glasses and steins.

BTW, you don't have an eye patch and inflatable parrot, do you?

Brother Michael, congratulations on the new Rogue! Is it in your hands yet? You're gonna love it! Since you're already a member in good standing you know PICTURES-PICTURES-PICTURES! I always like to see pictures and info of the amps also. Our basses wouldn't sound nearly as good without them.

Brother Mike, have you been into the Pickled Beet juice again? Inflatable parrots and stockings is sounding a lot like the bondage penguins.

Pegleg!!!! I'm really happy you found a Rogue after all. Hopefully it was just a matter of throwing some more money in the Spoiler pot and being able to afford it.

Let us all know how it works out when you get it!

So you got it from a Club member! Way cool.

I wonder if whoever bought the three pickup Spoiler will ever show up here?
