I just got a new Reunion Blues Continental gig bag for bass. This thing fits all of my basses! Even my wide cocobolo 7 fretless. I'm amazed. I picked up a guitar one for my status 5 and it was perfect. Now if the bass bag fits the 10er I'll be over the moon but thats 2 days away to find out. Oh, got it through Amazon, no tax or shipping. Just passing it on.

If so, you can find the dimensions on the link, Mica!

Try a Body Glove hybrid bass bag. It's internal dimensions are 50" x 16-1/4" x3"
It was large enough to hold my 1976 series 1, long scale and point body. I have shipped a couple of basses overseas in this case and there has never been a problem.I think they are being discontinued so get one while you can. Around $110.

Another endorsement of the Body Glove. I use their bass hard-sided bag for my 1977 Series I 12 string with the LONG knobby peghead. A great hybrid "bag".

I got Body Glove hybrid for my series 1 5 strings basses.
But it is not enough for these. (a little short of 50")
I am still looking for the best one.

I saw one of these Continentals at a local store, plan to get one soon. VERY nice, one of the few bags I would trust for an Alembic. I've always been very fond of Reunion Blues, not cheap, but high quality by people that do their homework.

There is a dealer on e-bay selling the Body Glove bass bag for $68.99. There are 7 left.

Eiji - I use it for a Series 1 and it fits great. My Series 1 has a regular crown headstock and point body. Does your 5 string have a 35 inch scale or larger headstock?

Hi Mike,

My 77' 5 strings is 34 inch standard with omega, but larger Fan head.
There is no room arround the top, and the bag is slightly stretched with zip it.

By the way, do you think about neck support ?
Body Glove has no support.
I am afraid neck-head tension.

EiJi- You are right, there is no neck support. I cut a couple of supports out of styrofoam and wrapped it in black velvet.

That Reunion Blues case looks nice though I'm still partial to my InCase. Sadly it looks like the InCase bags are unavailable (again). They have a semi-rigid frame and tons of soft cushioned support for the neck inside. There are ample compartments for sticking cables, a tuner, a mic, sheet music, spare batteries, wire cutters, strings, etc… all the essentials. The carrying options are also fabulous: simple handle on the top, a large single strap, or (what I use most) the backpack option. My longest bass is my Rogue 5 string (35” scale) and it fits without issue. Though I have doubts about some of the larger body instruments fitting (signature deluxe, series basses).

I have an incase and wanted to get another but as you stated, not available. Also my wide body basses don't fit in it. The shoulder strap is great and other bags don't include it. But I can switch it over if need be.

I took the pictures with Body Glove hybrid bass.

This is my 77' LSB 5 Omega in the bag.
There is no room above the headtop.
LSB 5

This is my 76' MSB 5 Point in the bag.
There is small room, but it will be needed point body guard on inner bottom.
MSB 5

I also use the neck support.

I think Body Glove hybrid bass will be fitted for following.

MSB Omega (but 8 string knobby ?)
MSB Point
LSB Omega with Crown or smaller head.

the continental is the only bag I could find that would fit my KSD proto-j 705. 35"scale 5 string jbass-48" long. If it'll take that, pretty much anything should fit.
