Hi i have a alembic bass that is in perfect mint condition handed down from my father to me. Can someone that knows alot about these give me some help? i want to know how much it is worth at this point and maybe the model or anything you can tell me. the serial number is 86f3953 and the neck is 32 inches thanks. |

Welcome James. Judging by that serial number you have an '86 Fender shaped Persuader, which are cool and a relatively uncommon body shape. See examples here: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/433.html?1268657398 Tough to comment on price. I'd say generally Persuaders of that era go for 1300 to 1500, maybe more in 'perfect mint condition' as you say. But the Fender shaped ones may be more desirable to a certain group of bass players. At any rate, having introduced yourself, you are now required to post some pictures here and/or in the Showcase section I linked to above. Also, if you consider selling, we have a for sale section here, and I'm sure some club members would like to have a look. Best of luck. EDIT: My curiousity peeked, I looked back through some posts and this is the Vector style, which really isn't quite so Fenderish, but still cool and unusual.
