Anybody know the cost/procedure for getting Series guts put in? Mica? Thanks! It was a medium scale that had Anniversary electronics(?) but was routed for Series electronics. I called Alembic and spoke to Mica. I don't remember the exact figure, but it was between $3500 - $4500 to change over to Series electronics. Almost none of the electronics could be reused. The problem would be that you are most likely going to be waiting for several years (if not more) to ever see them for sale. In my humble opinion, your time and money would be better spent on an SF-2, if you don't already own one. It's pretty much the same as buying Series II electronics in a separate unit, and they hold good resale value if you are inclined. One of these combined with on-board Signature electronics would provide an insane amount of flexibility. They sound great. I also agree that the SF-1 is the next best thing. I'm pretty sure we took the Series electronics out and put them in another of Adam's basses then changed these to either Signature or Anniversary.
