OK - here we go with tapping the remaining brain cells that all of you (we) older ALembic folks have left! I have asked this before (no, I'm not going senile) but thought that if I asked again I might have a bit more luck. When I bought my bass in 1976, my setup was as follows: IN-2, F-2B, MC-2300, (8) single 15 Alembic cabs (2 stacks of four!). I am now looking to replace the IN-2. It was the predecessor to what is now the DS-5R, but was MUCH more functional. If anyone knows where I might find one, please let me know!

Thanks

Chris - I know what you mean, I am sort of looking for one too. The IN-2 had low z outs in stereo that could be reversed with the flip of a switch. (If I remember correctly) I do know someone that owns one, but he won't part with it.

I think it would be nice to have a rackmount power supply that you could split the out puts to you power amp in stereo and have a mono output to the board, in 1 rack space. I guess I could modify my DS-5R, but I'd rather not.

Michael - not only reverse, but you also had front-and-rear-outs, you could sum the channels, assign both outs to a single channel and reverse that, as well. AND - the unit was a direct box, too! I remain "longing for the good old days" when all of these cool electronics could still be found! 8>)

BTW - I do not believe that Ron made all that many of these units, although the face plate did not appear to be hand lettered - Mica?

If there are a few people that want these, has anyone asked Mica if they could build a few more? It seems like the type of thing they might be willing to do...

Sounds like a really useful gadget. I like having the flexibility to reconfigure my signal and components. I'd be interested in having an IN-2.

Well, after a LOT of searching and stuff, I finally got an IN-2. It came in the mail today. I just got finished cleaning it up and installing it in my rack. I will be using it tonight. I will be playing with these guys:

I was wondering did the IN-2 come standard back in the early days as "THE" power supply. I ask because I bought a 75 series I and The guy I bought it from is going to send me the Original power supply, I am wondering should I receive a IN-2. and not a DS-5R?
Thanks Guys,

Ed, The IN-2 did not come standard. What you will be getting is a DS-5. It should be a small blue box that is not a rack mount unit.

Chris, I know someone who has one. I have been asking him for YEARS to part with it. He finally put me on to someone that he knew that also had one. The owner I bought it from sold his bass many years ago and had the IN-2 just hanging around. So, I do know of another, but he will not part with it. Believe me, I have tried!
