I own an 81 Distillate 4 (Koa top), which I use for recording, and live gigs with my "Grateful Dead" influenced band "Ragweed". I also have a 98 Epic 4 (Flame Walnut top), which is used for my "originals" band Pickled Beats. Both basses are played through an Ampeg B-2R with a DBX 166 compressor/gate into a Crate 15" cab and a SWR Goliath Junior III (2-10") |

I've just purchased my third Alembic, a 1999 Epic (SN# 99W11994). I bought it on Ebay last week from a man in the Milwaukee area, and received it tonight. It's lined fretless customized with red side LEDs, a knobby peghead, and a Hipshot drop-tuner on the E string. It has a flame maple top lam and an original hardshell case. I'll be posting pictures in the club soon! |

Sounds very cool, waiting for the pics. Interesting it has a knobby peghead. Wonder if the original owner ordered it that way or the folks at Alembic just felt like doing something different. I notice there's no "C" as a prefix to the s/n. stoney |
