Hi, I have bought a alembic filter (q-tone) to build in my bass. But... does sombody know how this can be done with a epic?
Do I have to replace the bass and tone knobs? I was hoping to replace only the tone knob.

Any one experiance with this? I Hope to hear from you.
regards and thanx for your time!

Hello Marco,

I am not sure if you mean that you have purchased both the tone filter and the 'Q' switch. Either way, what you seem to be after is what we call 'east meets west' custom electronics, so named after the first bass we put them on. You can see that bass here:http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_emw.html

We are closed until Tuesday because of the 4th of July holiday here in the US, but I'll ask Mica what she suggests. I do not know if you have everything you need to make that modification. We have not made many instruments with those electronics, so far.

On another note, congratulation on your bass, which I have actually played, since I know you bought it from a friend of mine. I saw him at my old store where he teaches guitar, and he asked me what the best way to sell his Alembic would be; so I told him to post here first before trying e-bay and...well, you know the rest. I am glad it found a good home.

Hi Valentino, thanx for your reply. And thanx for your kind words about my bass.

I have uploaded a image of the q-tone electronics. Maybe this is more clear to you, if you can see enything from it. I believe it is a q-tone with vollume.

MoreMusic is a great store to buy from with great people!

Ha die Marco, hoestie? Good to see you've decided to keep the Epic 5, or am I mistaken about seeing it on Marktplaats a while ago?

Hey Mule. I am doing just fine.

The bass is for sale, but I would like to give it a try with the q-tone. Maybe this will do the trick for me.

Euh... I saw the red Elan on this marketplace too. Regreds?

Just must mean this one:

Well, that's not mine actually. Leiden isn't far away from where I live, but Manfred and Wilfred really are two different people, no alias there! Nice Elan, reasonable price I think, but personally I don't really like that transparent red finish very much...
