Hello everyone..I looking for some history on my lefty Mark King Signature Standard 5. Serial number is 00MJ12418. I do know it's a 2000 year model, Standard Mark King, and the 12418 built, but I would like to know more history on this bass if anyone has it. It has "JS" inlaid on the fretboard. Thanks in advance for any info!

Here is a little info I have on your bass.
The previous owner, Jim Smith, died while serving our country.
I found this picture of his memorial on Facebook:

Thanks longhorncat for the info. I also found this photo on facebook last year. The initials on the fretboard are "JS" as you mentioned Jim Smith. I also believe he was from Maine. It is a very nice bass.

Thanks Flip for the pictures. It is one beautiful bass for sure! I'm hoping Mica will post the build sheet for this bass soon. It's been almost a year since I requested that info and it's seems to be running about a year to get build specifics once requested. I'm still trying to get used to a 5 string. I may have to try to find a similar 4 string instead. If you know of any Alembic 4 string lefties out there for sale, please let me know. Again, thanks!

Quite a beautiful bass. The top is outrageously gorgeous! Looks like Flame Koa, how mellow is the tone? Nice and warm? Use it well and keep JS in all of our prayers for service and the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country.
