It's early, I'm trying real hard.

Admin Mod: Please bear with me, I'm a dope.

OK, In America we say "Third time's the charm" (I don't understand either, but it's appropriate).

My Essence 5 arrived on-schedule, without incident. As proud as I am to have finally become an Alembic owner, I wanted to share some images with the collective.

Please welcome S/N 99K12262; Lacewood w/Europa Electrics:

I inspected it, set it up and played for about an hour to "feel it out" and what can I say....It plays like butta (NJ accent) and sounds like an Alembic should. Last image is with a German Warwick FNA Jazzman I bought years back (a real bargain) that's an unusually good player as well. They'll make a good team.
Regards,

Chris

Very nice Paul, congratulations. That's a great shot of the headstock detail. What are you playing through?

Thanks all-around, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. As Dave said: "just a very nice bass". I couldn't agree more.

Sam, my rig for outdoor or larger rooms is an Ashdown ABM 300 EVO-II head into an Ampeg BXT-410HL4 cab. For the small room and rehearsals I use an Ashdown Electric Blue 150 (UK built, not the Chinese pooey). I really enjoy the warmth that the Ashdown UK stuff gives and the Essence sounds great into it.

First gig with it is tonight at a little local dinner room with a 3-peice + fem/vocal talent. The band-mates have no idea yet. Their response will be interesting to see.

Cheers all!

Congratulations, Chris. Very nice bass. I' too like the combination of the Essence design with Europa electronics. Best of luck. Enjoy it and keep us posted on how you two are doing!

MAn O Man.I said it once and I'll say it again.I wish I could hear it being played. Then again,I say that about all the Alembic's I see here.I would love to hear that combo essence/Europa electrons.I used to know a player in town who had an Essence and it sounded fantastic. It didn't have Europa/Rogue electrons though. And that top on your's is extra special. You should be proud 'cause that's a real cool Essence.

That Lacewood looks great, and the headstock looks unreal, certainly a very special bass! Congratulations!

Chris,

It's great to see another Joisey boy come into the fold with such a beautiful bass. Have fun and take care.

You other Jersyites are northwest and south of me in Bergen County. Congrats Chris. We all warn you, it's tough to stop at just one! Get used to explaining what it is you are playing. Tis both blessing and curse.

Holy Sh*t! The Garbage, er, um, Garden State is about to entangle the entire area! Lord have mercy on the all the rest of you, LOL!

BTW, Say what you will about Joisey, but we got an authorized Alembic Dealer and all of NYC/NYS doesn't, LOL!
