Essence 4 String SN# 93K76XX verify?

Does anyone know where I can find how to verify SN#'s & theft records before I lay down money. The last thing I want is to fall for my new Bass only to find she's spoken for. However the Club membership is a rather helpful bunch, so if you have pics of this 93 Essence you can start a thread like for that (later) flame koa Essence.
